Two extended stay properties in the pipeline for Charleston

Local developers are planning to bring a brace of extended stay hotels to Charleston, South Carolina.

Mike Bennett's Daniel Island Ventures III has lodged plans to build a Home2 Suites hotel on a 2.2-acre site on Daniel Island. The scheme is up for review by the city Technical Review Committee on Thursday. The extended-stay property would be near a Hampton Inn and the recently closed Islander restaurant on Fairchild Street. Bennett owns both properties.

And locally based Jupiter Holdings wants to build a 123-room Woodspring Suites at 3025 Ashley Towne Center Drive. The property is planned on a vacant lot west of the Food Lion supermarket.

It’s been great, you have representation from the larger, more traditional operators as well as the new and emerging aparthotel operators. It’s fantastic to see them interacting with each other and it’s been great to be here.
