My Place opens in Colorado Springs

My Place Hotels of America has opened in Colorado Springs, doubling the brand’s footprint in the Centennial State.

Located at 369 Gleneagle Gate View, near I-25 and North Gate Boulevard, My Place Hotel-Colorado Springs is a three-storey, 64-unit property which marks the 41st My Place location across 20 states.

Set in the hills of northern Colorado Springs, the hotel offers panoramic views of the Rockies and Pikes Peak, My Place Hotel-Colorado Springs is the second hotel developed by John Segelke, a Colorado native who has worked throughout the Northern Colorado development scene for more than 20 years.

"We chose Colorado Springs as the second location to develop a My Place Hotel in Colorado based on its flourishing military, defence, high-tech, construction, and tourism industries and its low cost of living relative to nearby Denver," Segelke said. "We believe a My Place Hotel, which provides all the essentials short and long-term travellers require, at an affordable price, is the best lodging option to serve all aspects of this community."

Terry Kline, My Place EVP of franchise development, said: "My Place's western expansion continues to pick up speed thanks to John's work to connect key markets in the state of Colorado. With momentum on our side, we're excited to congratulate John on yet another successful My Place Hotel opening."

All My Place Hotels offer modern amenities at an affordable price including nightly, weekly, and monthly rate options. Each extended stay guest room will feature a My Kitchen, complete with a two-burner cooktop, a microwave, and a full-size refrigerator. The property is pet friendly and will also include on-site laundry facilities, a grilling pavilion, an outdoor pool, complimentary high-speed Internet service, and a 24-hour My Store, located in the hotel lobby and stocked with an array of supplies for the guests' convenience. Additionally, guests are invited to enjoy the Breakfast in Bed option for a minimal cost.

It’s been great, you have representation from the larger, more traditional operators as well as the new and emerging aparthotel operators. It’s fantastic to see them interacting with each other and it’s been great to be here.
